This Dictionary is based mainly on the English-Twi-Ga Dictionary by C A Akrofi and G L Botchey and partly on an older English-Twi-Ga Dictionary by J G Christaller, Ch. W Locher and J Zimmermann published in 1874. References were also made to the English-Twi-Dictionary by Ad. Mohr published in 1909 and the Eve-English Dictionary (or Evefiala) and the English-Eve Dictionary (or Gbesela Yeye) both by D Westermann published in 1928 and reprinted by Kraus in 1973.

In response to popular demand translations in Ewe, a widely used language in the Volta Region of Ghana, have been added.
